The Helena IR printed the last of the political letters to the editor Sunday. They also insinuated that these were the last of the letters except for those that were unsigned or had no call back number.
The last five postings on this blog were all submitted to the Helena IR,... none of them were posted. All were submitted at their web site using their on-line form. All had name, address and phone number. All were conservative postings.
Now I'm not saying they are liars, but they did come out for Obama in the same paper. I believe they have a definite bias to the left. I'm sure they will disagree just like all of the other media giants who have shown enough bias that even the public is aware of their slant as well as independent studies. But they have proven to me that they are just somewhere to the left of Lenin and Marx,... the same as Obama.
A conservative view of Helena. All postings are the opinions of the individual posters. We may not agree with or support any posting. Everyone is encouraged to be civil and post only arguements and not insults.

Who Do They Represent?
The latest news says Governor Schweitzer now receives most of his campaign donations from out of state. This includes donors from the East coast and Hollywood.
Senator Baucus receives most of his campaign donations from the state of New York.
Senator Obama’s campaign is taking illegal donations from those who give more than is allowed and from characters such as Mickey Mouse. His campaign has modified their computers to allow them to take credit card donations without verification of the donor. He has received donations from foreign countries without verification the donor is a USA citizen.
So just who are the supporters they will represent? Certainly not Montana.
Montana will have the best politicians that money can buy this year. And at a cheap price too.

How Obama Became a Senator
As we approach the final days of this election it is relevant to ask how Barack Obama (d) became a senator. It was not is oratory or his promise of change nor even his policies. It was how he forced his opponent’s, Senator Ryan’s (r), sealed divorce records to be opened. Even though Senator Ryan was honorable enough not to force John Kerry’s (d) divorce records to be opened during his presidential bid. Dirty politics and personal attacks from Obama.
Recently we have seen how the left wing attack machine of the DNC attacked a private citizen who dared to ask a question of Obama. Using government resources to seek incriminating information on him.
We have also seen how the left wing attack machine has desperately searched Governor Palin’s (r) family seeking anything they could to use against her bid for vice president. Attacking her husband and children and her underage daughters ‘face book’ records.
This is what we have in our future should Obama be elected. Attacks of anyone challenging or even asking questions of Obama. A fascist country crushing any citizen who questions this government.
Is this what we really want for our country?

Senator Baucus for Censorship
Senator Baucus (d) is again running for office this year. But is this the man we need in Washington? Baucus along with 41 Democrat senators tried to get Rush Limbaugh admonished for a statement he made about a “phony soldier”, a man who claimed to be a decorated soldier. A man who lied about the Iraqi war to an adoring press. Who then was exposed to be a total fake.
Yet Baucus had nothing to say when Murtha (d) accused American soldiers of killing innocent civilians with no proof. Nor did he say anything when Murtha accused his own constituents of being racists and red necks.
No Baucus will forgive Murtha and join with Harry Reid (d) and try to censor free speech in this country. They will introduce a law innocuously called the “Fairness Doctrine” which is just an attempt to force liberal viewpoints onto talk radio.
Baucus’ indignation and view of free speech is tainted by partisanship. Is this really who we want to represent Montana?

Williams Ayers is not Equivalent
I had thought the DNC letter writing campaign to the Helena IR could not sink any lower. The bar was set extremely low. But somehow they managed to slither under it.
A recent letter compared an American veteran to William Ayers and found the two to be morally equivalent. A terrorist who is not repentant as suggested in the letter, but who’s only regret is that he didn’t blow up more buildings and kill more people. A man who to this day fights to convert America to communism while standing on an American flag and denouncing America.
I thought I knew how low the left would sink to elect Obama. I was wrong, they can sink much lower than anyone thought they would.

Obama is not the Messiah
Contrary to a recent letter the Helena IR published Jesus was not a community organizer. He was a carpenter and the son of God and God. He taught the word of God and created a new religion.
Frankly I am disgusted with this constant barrage of propaganda trying to create Barack Obama in the image of God. He is a man and not a messiah like his sycophant’s would have you believe. If you must try to compare him to a religious leader try Mohammad. I am tired of those of little or no faith trying to use mine for their political candidate. The bible warns of false prophets and Obama is not Jesus.
If you must compare him to a community organizer try comparing him to Adolph Hitler who was a community organizer.

Drill Now
The Democrats took a vacation while the country suffered with high gas prices. This after Nancy Pelosi (D) promised that Democrats would reduce gas prices two years ago. Yet Pelosi has said to her fellow Democrats that it is OK to lie to the public about not drilling. Lie to their followers, whatever it takes to get Democrats re-elected.
Democrats have refused to open up drilling off the USA coast with lame claims of American incompetence. At the same time China is drilling off the USA coast. If the Chinese can safely drill off of our coast line why are American companies banned from drilling? Russia and Cuba are also making plans to drill off the USA coast while Democrats continue to block American companies from drilling in the same areas.
The only question is if Nancy Pelosi (D) and the rest of the Democrats are forcing higher gas prices to manipulate a presidential election or if this is payback for all the illegal campaign donations from the Chinese? Don’t bother asking they will only lie, they have permission.

Helena IR Senatorial Pick
Well I expected the liberal IR to pick Tester and they did. But that was not enough. They also had to post two political cartoons that were anti-Bush and post two opinion writers who are ultra-left and anti-Bush. I guess they didn't think everyone would follow them over the cliff like lemmings without extra opinions.
Paul Krugman definitely has 'Bush Derangement Syndrome' and the highest liberal ranking at www.lyinginponds.com. Thomas Friedman is just behind him with a definite liberal bias.
On page 3E an article by Brad Foss even does a 'damming denial' that Bush lowered gas prices for the election. Although the article says no individual controls world gas prices it then goes on how the liberal are linking the 'temporary' price drop to Bush.
The Helena IR by posting this just before the election makes sure that Burns has no time to refute them. They pulled out all of the stops in their support of Tester. Their ability to pick winners is not that good and I expect Burns to still win.
The Helena IR is so liberal that if there was any competition in Helena I think they would die a quick death as conservative, libertarian, and moderates would abandon their subscriptions.

John Kerry
Well the biggest news in the nation doesn't seem to be of any importance to the Helena IR today. Either they think that John Kerry's stupid statement is not news or that John Kerry is not news worthy, either way it is not in the paper.
I tend to think that they just don't like to print bad news about one of their hero's.
As to Kerry's lame excuses,... I've heard better from two-year olds.
Expect a two point bump in the polls for Republicans because of Kerry.
Not to much to report on the opinion page as 'letters to the editor' has taken over.
The Helena IR picks have not been much of a surprise yet. Their choices seem quite obvious.

Fall of the IR blog
I have been lax with posts. Summer does have a way of interfering with things. The IR has also stopped with their blog. This leaves a big gap in blogging for Helena. I know there a lot of you who are just frothing at the mouth to blog. So I'm going to start this one up before I finish with my documentation of IR bias.
I will be emailing select individuals and hope that others learn of this blog throuh them.
To start lets try something tame. Will the Schweitzer plan for gasification of coal work or is he overeaching.

Ellen Goodman writes on the 'Mommy Wars'. One thing that bothers me, they keep quoting how mother if they were paid would get $100,000+ per year. If most people don't make that now where do they get that high a number. And how come you never read how much the 'Dads' would make with their extra hours per week. I think this is a heavily padded number.

Movie Review MI:3
Mission Impossible 3
Actually not too bad. The story had all kinds of holes in it. And plausibility is not even remotely possible. An example; they brought a scanning device that not only could give a better image then an MRI but could also identify the objects material composition. This on a rescue mission with limited supplies and resources. But for an action movie it wasn't too bad.
Phillip S. Huffman did an excellent job. The thing missing from most action movies today is a really good BAD guy. One you just love to hate. The difference between a bad movie and a good movie is usually the bad guy. If you don't have a bad guy that everyone wants to see die in the end there is no passion for the audience. By the end of the movie you want to see Huffman die. Not quite as good a character as Goldfinger but close.
As to the rest of the cast they were pretty well forgettable as Tom Cruise tends to dominate the screen and not let any other great characters on screen. This is not good. You tend not to connect with the other characters and have no empathy for whether they live or die.
Tom also tries his best at some dramatic acting. But since we don't have empathy with the other characters his emotional response seems forced.
The action sequences were great and Tom actually did a LOT of his own stunts. I've seen CGI and these shots were not that. I'm sure the producer and director were close to a nervous breakdown with some of the stunts Tom did. Jumping from a building, running along a wall and several other stunts.
This action movie is also not one you will want to wait till it comes out on DVD. It has to be seen on the big screen with all the sounds effects. It will be a big disappointment to those who watch it on DVD after seeing it on the big screen.
My recommendation: See it at least once on the big screen.

Thomas Friedman (1L) writes today about how we need to free ourselves from our addiction on oil. He blames republicans more then democrats but he does lay blame on both parties. I don't agree with his ideas but he is relatively neutral on politics. (1L)
David Brooks (4C) writes about who is attracted to which party. He suggests it begins in high school. I disagree with it because it doesn't explain why people change. Demographics do change with age, although there are always exceptions. Give this one a 1L, I thought his description of republicans as dull instead of introspective gets him a point. 8^)
